i think my last post abt hv trace n col probably pointed in the wrong direction when it came to their dynamic because they are actually super close and actively try to care for one another

like they don't talk super frequently but colin won't forget the times where tracey helped him mend his wounds from overexertion at work when they were young . or how they literally unhooked him from all the sciency stuff that just made him a walking talking indoctrination machine . or how after a long day's work they'd sit together and hum tunes to try and make their situation a bit better

and tracey will never forget about how colin tried to help them as much as he could when work got too much for them . and how he stood up for them when faced with the threat of being decommissioned . or how he always supported them when their makers discouraged all things that weren't strictly planned by them

they just don't know how to talk to one another well
